A spoonful a day: simple ways to use bee pollen

Bee pollen is one of those foods people are curious about but unsure how to use. Good news: there's no technique to master. It's a finishing touch you sprinkle on, not an ingredient you cook with.

Our go-to is a spoonful over morning yogurt with a drizzle of honey, the texture is a little crunchy, a little chewy, and the flavor is gently floral. It's also great on oatmeal, smoothie bowls, and avocado toast.

One thing we never do is cook it. Like our honey, bee pollen is best raw, heat dulls both the flavor and the nutrients. Keep it in the fridge or freezer and it'll stay fresh for months.

Start small if you're new to it, a teaspoon a day, and work up from there.
